Biography

Kerrie Anne is a member of the management faculty and Assistant Dean in the Soules College of Business at the University of Texas at Tyler. She holds a dual appointment in the School of Medicine, serving as the Director for the Healthcare Leadership Distinction (HLD) program as well as a Professor of Practice contributing to the Public Health System Science (PHSS) Healthcare Administration Leadership and Management curriculum. Her professional focus is on strategic leadership. Kerrie Anne leads operations and strategic initiatives, designing, developing, and executing the implementation of programs and curricula in business. She was at the forefront of implementing the first executive healthcare administration program at the institution, followed by eight years as the founding Executive Director for the Executive MBA Healthcare Management Program. Her work places an emphasis on bridging the gap between the clinical and business aspects of the healthcare industry. Kerrie Anne has provided leadership development through training modules used in academia as well as industry. 

Kerrie Anne is recognized as a Distinguished Teaching Professor, having been honored for her contributions, innovations, and excellence in teaching throughout her career. She was most recently named a 2024 Fellow of the University of Texas System Academy of Distinguished Teachers (UTSADT). Kerrie Anne was the recipient of the 2024 White Fellowship for Teaching Excellence award and was named as UT Tyler’s 2025 Piper Professor Nominee. She was recognized by the Rotary International Rotary Club of Tyler as the 2022-2023 “Teacher of the Year” for the University of Texas at Tyler. Kerrie Anne is a Faculty Fellow in the Academy of Distinguished Teachers; she was awarded the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award (ROTA) by the University of Texas System in 2018, the highest teaching honor in the UT System. 

Kerrie Anne is an elected board member of the East Texas American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She has been recognizing repeatedly for her contribution to healthcare leadership receiving an ACHE Regent’s award in 2022 and again in 2024, she was also awarded the ACHE top Leader-to-Leader in the Academic Category, in 2023. Kerrie Anne is an elected member of the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Council and serves on the Global Advisory Committee.

Kerrie Anne served as the 2022-2024 President for the University of Texas at Tyler Academy of Distinguished Teachers. She is a graduate of Leadership Women - Leadership Texas, c/o 2019. Kerrie Anne is passionate about serving others both inside and outside of the classroom, she was named the “2022 Mentor of the Year” by the UT Tyler Office of Leadership and Service for her contributions to mentoring students. Kerrie Anne also serves as a faculty Mentor for AMP, the Academy Mentoring Program and is the Faculty Advisor for numerous student organizations.
