Biography
Dr. Chung's research mainly focuses on investigating the impacts of human resource
(HR) practices and events on organizational performance and employee well-being. His
specific areas of interest include employee-organization relations, HR systems, compensation,
and turnover. In addition to his research, he is interested in teaching Organizational
Behavior, Labor Relations, and Compensation and Benefits.
Before joining the University of Texas, Tyler, he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees
in Industrial and Labor Relations (Major Concentration: HR Studies) from the ILR School
at Cornell University. He also earned his M.S. and B.B.A. degrees in Business Administration
from the Business School of Sungkyunkwan University.
Outside of work, Dr. Chung enjoys playing golf and traveling abroad. He aspires to
break 100 in golf and hopes to revisit Slovenia one day, as he has many fond memories
of the country.
