Master of Science in Biotechnology
The Biotechnology Master of Science graduate program at The University of Texas at Tyler provides students with marketable skills and qualifications for work in the high-tech biotechnology industry. We are housed within the School of Medicine’s Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Our program is a two-year, thesis-based program where you will engage in hands-on, laboratory-based teaching in biomedical research taught by world-class, National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded faculty. Our students not only learn from renowned scientists, but engage in and advance biomedical research using cutting edge technology. We emphasize small class cohorts to ensure our students are receiving one-on-one instruction and mentorships that will prepare students for whatever comes next. Commonly, our students go on to Ph.D. programs, directly into the biotechnology industry, or other professional degrees. Assistantships and sponsorships are available to our students to support them during their studies.
Program Highlights:
- Thesis required and hands-on learning in a research laboratory
- Cutting edge biomedical research
- 1 on 1 mentoring in labs from NIH funded scientists
- Small class sizes and 2:1 Faculty to Student ratios
- Assistantships and Sponsorships available
