Faculty Awards
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine understands the importance of recognizing deserving faculty for achievements. The Faculty Honors and Awards Committee of the School is responsible for identifying faculty who have achieved significant accomplishments as members of the faculty of UT Tyler SOM for institutional, state, and national awards and for presenting these individuals to the Dean for consideration.
General Criteria
Unless stated otherwise within the specific award, nominees must meet the following general criteria to be eligible to receive these awards:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience at UT Tyler School of Medicine/UTTHSC
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in an academic position
- Full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor
- No formal disciplinary action or report of professional misconduct within 12 months prior to the nomination date
- An awardee may not receive the same award for the next three (3) years
