Curriculum
An anesthesiology resident's intern year is divided into 13, four-week rotations, primarily at UT Health Tyler acute-care hospital. All pediatric rotations will be the Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Broad exposure will provide foundational clinical exposure and training to support subsequent anesthesia specialty care and facilitate relationships and collaboration for successful hosptial-based patient care during program years 2-4.
The final rotation will be offered in the operating rooms as preparation for the start of clinical anesthesia training. We currently have operating room access to: 14 in-hospital, 2 cardiovascular survery, 4 outpatient and 2 obstetric suites.
Education will be continuous during the year within each dedicated department and the anesthesia months will be supplemented with simulation, didactic and case-based teaching.
