Dr. Rebecca Dunn is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences
at Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler. Dr.
Dunn received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
School of Pharmacy. Following graduation, she completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency
and a PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency at the University of Oklahoma Health
Sciences Center College of Pharmacy/OU Medical Center. Before joining Fisch College
of Pharmacy, she served on faculty at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center
College of Pharmacy for 4 years. In addition, Dr. Dunn is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy
Specialist.
Dr. Dunn is responsible for teaching students the classroom and lab, and serves as
an experiential preceptor. Primary teaching interests include renal and gastrointestinal
pharmacotherapy and pain management principles. Dr. Dunn’s research interests include
various practice-based research initiatives, inpatient antimicrobial stewardship and
safe medication use in the inpatient setting.
Dr. Dunn specializes as a clinical pharmacist in inpatient internal medicine. In this
role, she works collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to
optimize medication therapy for patients by performing medication reviews, consultations
and provision of drug information. Strong emphasis is placed on developing patient
specific therapeutic plans and working with the medical team to optimize therapeutic
goals.
