Biography

Dr. Takova D. Wallace-Gay is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler.  She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Auburn University.

After graduation she completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with the Central Alabama Veterans’ Affairs Healthcare System in Montgomery, AL and a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Specialty Residency with Columbus Regional Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Dr. Wallace-Gay’s professional interests include primary care with a focus in diabetes, cardiovascular disease and patient education. Her research and scholarship interests include pharmacist involvement in cardiovascular risk reduction, health literacy, underserved populations and student/resident involvement in clinical practice.

She also maintains membership in a number of professional organization including, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, National Pharmaceutical Association and American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
