Biography

Dr. Frank Yu, is the APPE Director and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee and completed his PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency at The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in Oxford, Mississippi. During his residency, his focus was in providing diabetes education classes at an independently owned community pharmacy and taught in pharmacy clinical skills laboratories and in Problem-Based Learning sessions at the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Yu’s primary teaching responsibilities are in pharmacy skills laboratories and APPE-readiness coursework and assessments. His clinical practice is in ambulatory care with low income patients. His scholarly interests include public health and experiential education.

Dr. Yu is passionate about public policy and is involved with the Texas Pharmacy Association and is co-advisor of TPA-ASP at UT Tyler.
