Resident Annual Salary – 2024 – 2025
PGY-1 $61,700 (5,141.67/mos)
PGY-2 $64,100 (5,341.67/mos)
PGY-3 $66,500 (5,541.67/mos)
PGY-4 $68,900 (5741.67/mos)
PGY-5 $71,300 (5,541.67/mos)
PGY-6 $73,800 (6,150.00/mos)
* residents are paid the first of each month

- Medical insurance coverage provided for resident with no premium (may add dependents as applicable)

Vacation, Sick Leave and Holidays
- Vacation: 12 days per academic year (accrue 8 hours each month; available to take after 6 months of employment)
- Sick leave: 12 days per year (accrue 8 hours each month)
- Holidays: Clinics are closed on holidays. Other observed holidays are specific to program and rotation. Holidays worked will be compensated in most cases.
- Floating Holidays: Up to 7 days per fiscal year (available September 1 of each year) to be used however you choose. (Residents may use floating holidays during the 6-month ‘probation’ period in which vacation days are accruing, but cannot yet be used.)
Educational *
- Laptop computer during residency
- Pub Med and Up-To-Date provided by HSC
- Registration paid for applicable certification courses (ex. ACLS)
- Funds available up to $500 toward Step 3 or COMLEX 3 exam
- Funds available up to $700 toward Texas Medical License
- Funds available up to $500 per academic year for books and other approved educational resources

Moonlighting
- With program director approval, moonlighting opportunities are available to residents who have obtained a Texas Medical Board license.
