Herrington Patriot Center (HPC)

The Herrington Patriot Center (HPC) is named for the family of Louise H. Ornelas, who has been an avid supporter of UT Tyler for many years. In addition to the Jean Lancaster Academic Wing, this center includes the Maytee Fisch Convocation Center (gymnasium/convocation area with basketball and volleyball courts seating over 2,000), the Jim and Bonna Bess Vaughn Recreation and Therapy Pool (heated pool and spa with sun deck), the Meadows Student Lounge and a fitness center.

UT Tyler faculty and staff can request these locations using Astra. Quick video tutorials can be found here.

Registered student organizations need to request space through Patriots Engage. Patriot Engage Training Video Tutorials are available if needed. Video tutorials to Navigate Scheduling Grid in Astra are available as well.

Community members are welcome to request this venue for conferences, large banquets, graduations, galas, etc. Please use the Herrington Patriot Center Locations Online Request Form for Community Members. A quick video tutorial can be found here.
