Master's Exam Syllabi

Graduate Program

In order to earn an MS degree in mathematics, students are required to pass a comprehensive exam in each of the four core areas covered by their coursework (analysis, algebra, probability and statistics, and applied mathematics). The content of each exam is usually determined by the instructor of the corresponding course. However, there are syllabi for the exams that give a general idea of the topics that are likely to be covered in each area.
