Biography
Dr. Azadeh Izadi is and assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Electrical
Engineering at UT Tyler. She joined the school in 2022. She obtained her Ph.D. in
computer science from Massey University, New Zealand, in 2021. She focused on developing
an ontology to represent spatial relations between geographic onjects during her Ph.D.
course. This work is partially implemented in geographic information systems. During
her Ph.D. course, she also met and worked with other international researchers at
the University of Leeds (UK) and the University of Maine (USA).
Dr. Izadi received her M.Sc. in Digital Electronics Engineering from Sharif University
of Technology, Iran, in 2010. She implemented a learning algorithm to partition human
brain magnetic resonance images (MRI) to detect turmoral tissue in her thesis.
Before her Ph.D., Dr. Izadi had been working as a lecturer in Electrical Engineering
Department at Azad UNiversity for eight years. She taught various courses, including
digital systems design, microprocessors, and programming.
