Dr. Pravitha Ramanand is an Assistant Research Professor of Electrical Engineering
at the University of Texas, Tyler, Texas. She received her PhD from Faculty of Technology
at the Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in 2004. She was a postdoctoral
fellow in Neuro-magnetism Laboratory, Henry Ford Hospital in 2005. She also completed
postdoctoral training in biomedical signal processing and modeling from the Department
of Biomedical Engineering, University of Kentucky from 2008 to 2010, and from the
Department of Electrical Engineering, The University of Texas at Tyler from 2019 to
2021.
Dr. Ramanand’s current research is focused on signal processing, modeling and predictive
analytics of physiological signals from preterm infants. Her interests include prediction
of cardiorespiratory events using traditional and artificial intelligence-based methods,
statistical data driven modeling of physiological signals to derive systemic insights,
and development of novel indices and measures for bio-signal analysis.
