Biography
Sagnik Dakshit is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the
University of Texas at Tyler. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University
of Texas at Dallas, specializing in Intelligent Systems and B.Tech from WBUT, India.
His research focuses on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare Informatics
and has been published in top Computer Science conferences and journals. During his
Ph.D., he has worked on various research projects with Robert Bosch, Seagate Technologies,
HP Machine Learning Labs, and Nokia Bell Labs. Prior to his Ph. D. he has worked on
software development projects with IBM, and Tata Technologies.
Research and Teaching Interest:
Dr. Dakshit's primary teaching interest is in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence,
Healthcare Informatics. He believes in hands-on approach through projects. His research
interests focus on Explainable and Human-allied AI systems and their application in
various domains to improve quality of life.
