Education and Psychology Funding Opportunities
Each year, the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation makes available at least one graduate-level fellowship worth up to $24,000 in each state. Applicants should either be a teacher or plan to become a teacher of American History, American Government or social studies at the secondary school level. After finishing their Master’s degree, scholars are required to teach these subjects in grades 7-12 for one year per each full academic year of study under the fellowship.
Approximately 1000 awards are given to minority students with financial need. The awards are targeted for undergraduate study in all disciplines or graduate study in mathematics, science, engineering, education, or library science. Applicants should have outstanding academic qualifications, strong leadership potential, and demonstrate a commitment to community service. Although a nomination by a professional educator is required, students are encouraged to approach faculty or administrators if they have interest in this award.
