Students transferring to UT Tyler from another college or university are required to attend New Patriot Orientation or fulfill their requirements through our online orientation.

For students beginning at UT Tyler in summer 2024, we will be hosting in-person orientation sessions on Friday, January 12, 2024.
For students beginning at UT Tyler in fall 2024, we will be hosting in-person orientation sessions on Friday, May 17, 2024 and Friday, August 9, 2024.
All transfer students who have been officially accepted to UT Tyler will receive an email to their Patriots email account inviting them to register for New Patriot Orientation when the registration opens.
If you have not activated your Patriots email account, visit the IT Support website for instructions.
Yes, we hope you will! You may include them with your registration.
Students and guests can register online when we open the link for registration. Once you have submitted your registration form all confirmation emails will be sent to your Patriots email account.
The cost of Transfer New Patriot Orientation is automatically added to student's Fall 2024 bill. All incoming transfer students, effective Fall 2022, are charged a one-time New Student Programs fee of $225. This fee covers orientation and programming intended to support transfer students during their first year at UT Tyler.
For all Transfer New Patriot Orientation sessions, the non-refundable fee for parents/family members and guests is $20 per adult and $10 for guests 16 and under. To submit payment for parent/family members and guest fees, please visit our online payment portal.
No. Advising and registration does not currently take place as part of the transfer student orientation schedule. Advising and registration can be scheduled before or after your orientation session. To set up your advising and registration appointment, please call the Academic Advising Center at 903.565.5718.
Yes. All transfer students are required to complete New Patriot Orientation to acclimate them to the university, learn about services and resources available, and to learn about policies and procedures that pertain to being a UT Tyler Patriot!
For students unable to attend an in-person session, an online orientation is available. Please email orientation@uttyler.edu from your Patriots email address to request access to our online orientation option.
Transfer New Patriot Orientation will provide you with an opportunity to learn about the services and resources available at UT Tyler, meet key staff members and learn more about required policies related to being a student.

An official orientation schedule will be provided via email at least one week before your orientation session.
Please only register for a session that you will be able to attend. You will NOT be able to switch sessions once you have registered.
