Spanish majors develop analytical and communicative skills uniquely preparing them for carers in an increasingly diverse national culture and global economic system.

The Spanish BA degree program at UT Tyler offers language instruction at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Courses are also offered in the literatures of Spain and Spanish America as well as Hispanic culture.

Upon completing the program, the student will possess a strong understanding of the language, culture and literatures of more than 300 million people worldwide. Careers may be pursued in a variety of fields including elementary, secondary and higher education; social work; communications; and government.
