Reading Program Announces Accolades, New Certificates

Students Visiting with FacultyUT Tyler recently received accolades for its graduate-level reading program and added two new certificates. Learn more about the program’s achievement and the additional offerings.

National Recognition

The UT Tyler Master of Education in reading program was recognized at the national level by the International Literacy Association.

ILA, a top-tier professional literacy organization, demands high standards for the preparation of literacy professionals and serves as a leader in publishing innovative, peer-reviewed literacy research. The university’s three-year selection process included a rigorous self-study to showcase how program courses exemplify ILA standards. Read more.

New Reading Certificates Offered

UT Tyler now offers two new certificates within the Master of Education in reading program.

The nine-credit UT Tyler literacy coaching certificate focuses on literacy coaching theories, research, roles and responsibilities. The 12-credit UT Tyler dyslexia certificate focuses on diagnostic assessment and dyslexia instruction and intervention. Both certificates are 100% online and take one year to complete. Read more.
