The 2012 East Texas Book Fest will be 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at the UT
Tyler Ornelas Activity Center, Jeanne Standley, UT Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library director,
announced.
Co-organized by the Muntz Library and Smith County Area Libraries Together [SALT],
the public event will feature some of Texas’ most popular authors. Attendees also
may buy books, browse various exhibitions and join discussion groups. Discussion topics
include creative writing, book research and marketing and promotion.
“This will be the fourth East Texas Book Fest. Each year, it has just gotten better
and better, and this one looks to be the best one yet,” Standley said.
The event is funded in part with a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate
of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Junior League of Tyler and East Texas
Communities Foundation.
