Be Informed About Financial Assistance

The 2024-25 FAFSA

3-8-24:

The Department of Education has announced that the information you provide on the FAFSA will not be sent to colleges and universities until mid-March or possibly later. This delay will mean that your Financial Aid Awards for next year will also be delayed until possibly late May. Our Financial Aid and Scholarship Office is working hard to stay on top of all the latest information and changes related to the 24-25 FAFSA. If significant announcements are made we will email students who previously submitted FAFSA’s as well as post updates here. Keep an eye out for FAFSA workshops on campus in late March, April and May.

If you have any questions in the meantime our One Stop representatives will be able to give you advice and assurances. Contact them at 903-566-7180 or enroll@uttyler.edu. 2-26-24:

The Department of Education has announced that the information you provide on the FAFSA will not be sent to colleges and universities until mid-March or possibly later. This delay will mean that your Financial Aid Awards for next year will also be delayed until as late as late May.

While the delay is not ideal, rest assured that our Financial Aid and Scholarship Office is aware of the FAFSA glitches and delays and is working closely with the Department of Education and others so that we can award your aid as soon as feasible.

If you are able, go ahead submit your 24-25 FAFSA. The more UT Tyler student FAFSAs we have to award initially the better. If you are having issues follow these suggestions below:

For technical glitches follow these steps:

If you are unable to submit FAFSA due to lack of an SSN:

  • Dept of Education is working on a fix to this issue set to release in early March.
  • We recommend NOT submitting a paper FAFSA but waiting for the fix. All electronic FAFSAs will be processed before paper FAFSAs.

Stay up-to-date on the most recent news from fafsa.gov, and we will send out information as we have it.
