National Pan-Hellenic Council Membership Intake Process (MIP)

It is important for those interested in membership in an NPHC organization to first do research on the organization that they would wish to join. Most commonly this is done by reaching out via email, visiting the national website, and following the organization and chapter on social media. When chapters do information sessions or showcase events try and attend those to ask questions of current members.

To indicate your interest please fill out the NPHC Interest Form. The Greek Affairs Office will send your information onto the appropriate organization who will then communicate with you about their intake activities.

Established Chapter(s)

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is the council for the nine historically African-American fraternities and sororities. Sometimes called the "Divine Nine", National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations participate in a process called "intake" where they select new potential members.

We currently have one NPHC organization on campus, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Upsilon Epsilon Chapter.

You can follow the  chapter on social media and can find more information at the following:

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.- Engage
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.- National website
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.- Email

For more information about the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. intake process, please email Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. or follow their accounts on social media.

Chapter's Approved to Expand

The Office of Greek Affairs approves all organizations who wish to establish a chapter at UT Tyler. When two or more NPHC organizations are chartered, then an official UT Tyler Pan-Hellenic Council will be formed. If you have questions about a particular organization  or want to learn about other potential opportunities for NPHC organizations, please contact the Greek Affairs Office.
