Our Governing Councils

The University of Texas at Tyler is home to many inter/national fraternities and sororities. These fraternities and sororities are governed on campus by councils that are comprised of current active members in the represented groups. These councils are the College Panhellenic Council (CPC), Men's Council (MC),  National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and our Multicultural Greek Council (MGC).

Our Current Councils

College Panhellenic Council (CPC)

The College Panhellenic Council (CPC) governs the Panhellenic Association at UT Tyler, which includes women's fraternal organizations recognized nationally by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC).

Founded in 1902, NPC is the national governing body for the 26 women’s fraternities and sororities. Three NPC sororities are members of the UT Tyler community: Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, and Zeta Tau Alpha.

College Panhellenic works for a stronger women's fraternal experience at UT Tyler by working with their organizations to ensure compliance with national standards and policies, planning Primary Recruitment, hosting social and educational events for sorority women, and helping organizations have good working relationships with one another.

There is alumni counterpart for the Tyler area, the Tyler Area Alumnae Panhellenic. Their stated goal is to assist women with the Panhellenic recruitment process

Men's Council

The Men's Council was created in the Fall of 2020 and officially voted upon in January of 2021 as the official governing body of all UT Tyler fraternities. This body is a local level independent governing council which represents all member organizations interests on campus by advocating for a stronger men's fraternal experience at UT Tyler.

The Men's Council is tasked with management of areas such as fraternity growth and expansion, establishing member policies, maintaining organization standards, and educating members, and give fraternity men the opportunity to connect across organizations socially.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is made up of the nine historically African American fraternities and sororities. This council will be officially established once two or more NPHC organizations are established on campus.

The Tyler area is also home to the East Texas Pan-Hellenic Council, an alumni body for Divine Nine alum. For more information on the ETPHC follow their social media.

Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

The Multicultural Greek Council nationally is made up of twelve organizations. The UT Tyler Multicultural Greek Council currently has one member and will be officially established once two or more MGC Organizations are established on campus.
