Biography
James joined the UT Tyler Advancement staff in March 2023, as the Director of Special
Events. He joined the Development Team as Director of Development for the College
of Education and Psychology in August of 2023.
James began developing his event planning skills after he was selected to serve as
the 2013 Houston Astros Spring Training Sales Liaison in Kissimmee Florida. After
completing his time with the Astros, James shifted his focus to higher education events.
James has coordinated events with the Arkansas State University Multicultural Center
and served as the Conference Coordinator for the Association for the Study of Higher
Education (ASHE). Since his arrival to the University Advancement department, James
has obtained a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from IUPUI’s Lilly Family School
of Philanthropy.
James is also currently completing a PhD in Higher Education at the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas. When he is not working towards the advancement of UT Tyler, James
enjoys sports and traveling.
