Biography

Audrey Scott currently is employed by the Tyler Museum of Art, Tyler, Texas. Prior to attending the University of Texas at Tyler, she retired from the Army after twenty-one years of service.

Research Statement

During her studies for her masters, she specialized in Mesoamerican manuscripts pproduced during the Pre-conquest or Early Colonial Period, which focused on Nahua/ Mixtec Codices, as well as the symbolism, rituals, and ceremony connected to the images in the Borgia Group Codex under the direction of Dr. Lisot-Nelson. Audrey Scott also has a minor in the subject of the Katsinam, and Hopi Kachina Dolls and the pottery of the Pueblo. This includes the symbolism, rituals, and ceremony connected to the images in the pottery and the Kachina dolls, as well as the cultural and religious relationship to the community where they originated from. Her Bachelor’s Thesis, “Caravaggio’s Taking of the Christ," was chaired by Dr. Lisot-Nelson.
