Graduate Degree Programs
The University of Texas at Tyler offers 35 graduate programs across its five colleges, all designed with the adult student in mind. Most of our programs are available on a full- or part-time basis, and evening courses are available for the convenience of working professionals. We also offer a number of affordable online graduate degree programs for even greater flexibility. Meet Our Faculty
Our graduate faculty members are innovative teacher-scholars with outstanding academic credentials. They are passionate about teaching and dedicated to their students. As accomplished scholars, they are actively involved through their research and/or creative pursuits in contributing to their disciplines. The experiences, knowledge, and unique perspectives these faculty bring to the University not only enrich the learning environment but also help define UT Tyler's commitment to intellectual growth and the success of its students. Online Degrees and Certifications
Seven of our master's programs are entirely online: the MBA Online, Nursing MSN, MS in Human Resource Development, MS in Kinesiology, the M. Ed. in Educational Leadership, the MA in School Counseling, and the MEd in Curriculum and Instruction. Also, our PhD in Nursing is entirely online. The Graduate School reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Dean of Graduate Studies is responsible for the administration and quality assurance of 35 master's programs, 2 doctoral programs, and 7 graduate certificates.
The Graduate School is also responsible for assuring the quality presentation of all theses and dissertations. A link to Information on preparation and processing of the master's thesis and doctoral dissertation can be found by clicking on Current Students in the left panel.
The Graduate School works cooperatively with the Office of Sponsored Research to identify opportunities for student assistantships and fellowships.
The Dean of The Graduate School sits as an ex officio member of the UT Tyler Graduate Council, which recommends graduate policies and approvals of all new programs, new courses, and course and program changes. The Dean also approves all memberships to the Graduate Faculty.
The Dean chairs the Graduate Directors Workgroup, composed of all college graduate coordinators. This group is responsible for making recommendations on the implementation of policy and the day-to-day operations of graduate programs and graduate admissions processes.
