Open to students across health science disciplines, the seminar provides diverse perspectives that enrich your understanding of global healthcare systems.

Academics

Students participating in the Global Health Seminar in India will be enrolled in either HPEM 4315 or HPEM 5315. The course(s) do not have a prerequisite and are open to students of all health science disciplines. The tuition and fees associated with the course are not included in the program fee.

Housing & Meals

Housing

Housing is in a centrally located hotel. Breakfast and wireless internet is included. Laundry services are not provided.

Meals

The program includes a welcome & farewell lunch and daily breakfast at the hotel. All other meals are at the expense of the participants. Affiliate provider staff will provide a list of suggested dining options for participants to explore on their own.

Transportation

In-country transportation is included in the program fee, i.e. group airport pick-up & drop-off and round-trip transportation for all site visits and excursions on the program itinerary. International round-trip airfare is not included in the program fee.

Entry Requirements

Passport

All international travel requires a valid passport. The passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay. In addition, your passport must have at least six months’ remaining validity on your passport from the date of your planned return. If you do not have a passport, schedule your appointment at the UT Tyler Passport Acceptance Facility.

Visa

Students can enter India on tourist visas and extend their visas in-country, if necessary. The cost of the visa and the extension is the responsibility of each student. Should a non-U.S. citizen need a visa for India, they must refer to their home country's consulate directly for application instructions and requirements. Ultimately, it is the program participant's responsibility to apply, pay for, and secure their own visa.
