Reporting Academic Dishonesty Incidents

Academic violations are behaviors that include but are not limited to cheating, plagiarism, collusion, and falsifying academic records.  A full list of the Academic Dishonesty policies is available in section 8-802 of the Manual of Policies and Procedures, which is available at this link:  MOPP ch. 8

General classroom misbehavior is considered a non-academic violation and can be reported in the Non-Academic Violation report form or the CARE report form, both of which are located below.  

To report an Academic Dishonesty incident, please use the Academic Dishonesty Report Form.

Reporting Concerning, Worrisome, or Threatening Behaviors

Faculty, staff, students, and community members are encouraged to use the CARE Report Form (Formerly BIT Report Form) to report behavior and hardships that they perceive with a student as concerning, worrisome, or threatening. Reporting an Incident as a Member of a Greek Organization

All Greek organizations are mandated to report the following allegations: harm to one's health and safety, hazing, illegal substances, Title IX, and underage drinking. The scope for filing these reports are as follows: chapter hosted events, philanthropy events, interfraternity council hosted events, chapter meetings, and chapter judicial meetings.

Reporting a Non-Academic Violation

Non-academic violations are behaviors that allegedly violate a university policy, but that do NOT violate an Academic Dishonesty policy.

These incidents include but are not limited to:  alcohol, disorderly conduct, illegal drugs, hazing, harassment, physical violence, or other violations of the university policies, regulations, or rules.

To report non-academic misconduct, please use the General Non-Academic Incident Reporting Form.

Reporting an Incident that Occurred in an On-Campus Living Facility

Incidents that take place in on-campus housing should be reported directly to the Housing and Residence Life staff.  These incidents include violations of UT Tyler's alcohol/drug policy, disorderly conduct, and failure to comply within the residence hall/apartments.

To report non-academic violations that occur within an on-campus living facility, please use the Residence Life Report Form. 

Reporting a Non-Academic Grievance

Students may present complaints and grievances concerning their treatment by an employee or department related to their status as a student. Grievances should identify the basis of the dispute, including specific facts, and provide relevant documents or any other information pertinent to the matter.

Reporting Relationship/Interpersonal Violence or Sexual Misconduct

Interpersonal violence includes dating violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, or stalking behaviors. The Office of Title IX works to address interpersonal violence concerns.
