ECRT (Effort Certification and Reporting Technology)

What is ECRT?

In February 2009, the University of Texas at Tyler launched an on-line, web-based effort reporting system called ECRT (Effort Certification and Reporting Technology). This system facilitates both the monitoring of effort distributions during the year and the required annual certification of effort. ECRT can be used to monitor effort.

Certification Schedule

Effort Certification through ECRT will be undertaken quarterly. As with the previous effort reporting system, faculty and staff principal investigators will have 2 weeks (14 days) to certify. Important dates for time and effort certification are listed below.  

Time and Effort Certification FY25 Important Dates

Quarter 1
Monthly: September 1st- November 30th
Bi-Weekly:  August 11th-November 30th  

November 30th – No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.
December 9th-December 20th Main Campus Certification Dates
December 16th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus
January 2nd – January 16th HSC Campus Certification Dates
 

Quarter 2
Monthly: December 1st - February 28th
Bi-Weekly: December 1st - March 8th

February 28th- No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.
March 10th-March 24th Main Campus Certification Dates
March 13th No more payroll changes for HSC campus
March 17thth OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus
April 2nd – April 16th HSC Campus Certification Dates
 

Quarter 3
Monthly: March 1st-May 30st
Bi-Weekly:  March 9th-May 31st 

May 31st- No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.
June 10th-June 24th Main Campus Certification Dates
June 13th No more payroll changes for HSC campus
June 16th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus
July 2nd – July 16th HSC Campus Certification Dates
 

Quarter 4
Monthly: June 1st – August 30th    
Bi-Weekly:  June 1st- August 9th

August 30- No more sponsored projects payroll changes for this time period both campuses.
September 10th-September 24th Main Campus Certification Dates
September 12th No more payroll changes for HSC campus
September 15th OSP receives payroll data for HSC campus
October 2nd – October 16th HSC Campus Certification Dates
