HOW DO YOU KNOW THERE IS A MARKET FOR YOUR IDEA?

Using the Lean Canvas as a guide, The UT Tyler New Venture Pitch (NVP) is designed to test and validate your big idea, make changes (iterations or pivots) based on evidence found and insights gained, and repeat this process until the crucial aspects of your idea are fully validated. Just because you can design somethings does not mean that it will be commercially viable.

Open to all UT Tyler Students, the 2025 NVP competition will take place on April 3rd. You can find more information below. Registration is now open!

Prizes for the winners are:

First place: $4,000
Second place: $2,000
Third place: $1,000

Key Dates

November 4, 2024: First round of Applications Opens
February 2, 2025: First round of Applications Closes. All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM CT
February 10, 2025: Semifinalists Announced
March 12, 2025: Second round Applications Close
March 19, 2025: NVP Finalists Announced.
April 3, 2025: Competition Day
