UT Tyler Student Success

Student Fee Advisory Committee

The Student Fee Advisory Committee is established pursuant to Texas Education Code 54.5031 & 54.5033 and is comprised of students appointed by the Student Government Association and faculty/staff appointed by the President.

The SFAC's chief responsibility is to advise the president and administration of UT Tyler on the type, amount and expenditure of compulsory fees for student services collected under Section 54.503 of the Texas Education Code. The SFAC typically meets in the spring semester to determine recommendations for the following fiscal year. On the occasion that additional funds are available for allocation as determined by the Budget Office, the SFAC may convene to address one-time or recurring funding requests from departments across campus already receiving student service fees. All requests must be submitted through the appropriate Vice President, Chief Student Affairs Officer and the Associate Vice President for Business Affairs and must be submitted via the budget report tool maintained by Student Affairs.
