The University of Texas at Tyler announces Graciela (Gracy) Buentello as the new director of human resources and diversity following a national search. She begins today.
In her new role, Buentello will oversee the day-to-day operations of human resources and act as a key adviser to senior leaders. She also will work closely with the human resources team to develop strategy and create a professional, integrated, customer-focused culture within the department and across campus.
"Gracy has more than 14 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, project leadership and systems management – in both the private and public sectors, including higher education," said Bill O'Donnell, vice president for business affairs. "She has been instrumental in leading the strategic transformation and day-to-day delivery of core human resources services. Please join us in congratulating Gracy in her new role as director of human resources and diversity."
Buentello holds a bachelor of business administration and a master of science in human resource management.
