Biography

MARIA OGBURN, is an adjunct lecturer of Music History at the University of Texas at Tyler.  She has also served as an Opera Assistant for performances by the UT Tyler Opera and Musical Theater classes.

Ms. Ogburn is originally from Austin, Texas, and is currently active as a Minister of Music near where she currently lives.

During her graduate studies, Mrs. Ogburn completed eighteen graduate credits in music, including a course in Music Bibliography and Research Methods, in which students explore the field and divisions of musicology, culminating in a formal research proposal.  In addition, she completed a course at Texas Woman’s University in Opera Literature and History and  presented a well-researched lecture recital on “The Cabaret Influence in Satie’s Vocal Music” at UT Tyler.
