Biography

Dr. Dana Morris is an Assistant Professor of STEM Education in the School of Education at the University of Texas at Tyler, where she is a faculty member in the elementary education and UTeach programs. Prior to entering academia, she spent 13 years in K-12 education as a secondary mathematics, physics, and chemistry teacher, as well as a math and science instructional coach for grades 6-12, and a district secondary science coordinator.

Dr. Morris’s research interests center on induction coaching, teacher knowledge development, and innovative science teaching strategies. She has published articles on teacher knowledge, inquiry instruction, and digital competence for educators in a variety of peer-reviewed journals. Her work has been presented at major conferences, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST), and the School Science and Mathematics Association (SSMA). In 2024, Dr. Morris was recognized for her outstanding contributions to research in STEM education by winning the Outstanding Conference Submission Award from the AERA - SIG Constructivist Theory Research and Practice.
