Degree and Enrollment Verifications

Verification is often required for purposes of health insurance coverage, good student auto 
insurance discounts, VA benefits, etc.

Verifications are available in three formats:

• Validity Registry – degrees and certificates
• Electronic Verifications – downloadable PDF – degree and enrollment verifications
• Hard-Copy Verifications – enrollment verifications

Please note: Verifications needed for the purpose of an apostille and/or visa requirements will need to be submitted via the Office of the Registrar for a hard-copy verification. Also, the free electronic enrollment verifications through the National Student Clearinghouse do not have any degree/major information; therefore, a hard-copy should be requested if this information is needed.

Validity Registry

The University of Texas at Tyler provides the ability for students and third-parties to verify awarded academic credentials for students who have not withheld the release of directory information using the Validity Registry. The Validity Registry uses blockchain technology to verify awarded academic credentials and is free. Academic credentials awarded since Fall 2004 are available to the searched. This option is free to use.

Electronic Degree Verifications

The University of Texas at Tyler has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse, www.degreeverify.com, to provide verification for UT Tyler students, alumni, and third-party vendors.

Electronic Enrollment Verifications

Electronic degree verifications are $4.95 each.

To request an electronic verification:

1. Go to the National Student Clearinghouse
2. Click on Verify Now
3. Create an account
4. Login to the account
5. Verify your login via multi-factor authentication
6. Fill in the requested personal information, and click Submit
7. Fill in payment information

Within minutes after placing an order, the National Student Clearinghouse will present you with 
a verification certificate or notification of pending research of academic record. This verification 
page also includes a link to a PDF version of your verification certificate containing the same 
information, which you can print and/or save.

Please Note: The National Student Clearinghouse cannot provide enrollment verifications for current students who have requested that their directory information be kept confidential. If your directory information is confidential, you must request enrollment verification through the Office of the Registrar directly (see below).

Hard-Copy Verifications

You can request a hard-copy verification by either going to the One-Stop Service Center located in Stewart Hall, or you can complete the “Request for Verification of Enrollment” form located at https://www.uttyler.edu/current-students/registrar/forms.
