Testing Services, Schedule, and Fees

All exams are by appointment only. Please call the Testing Center at 903.565.5693 or send an email to testingcenter@uttyler.edu to schedule an appointment.

All fees must be paid prior to scheduling. Fees can be paid online or at the One-Stop Shop in the University Center. Please note that all fees are non-refundable.

All exams require a valid photo ID. A picture of an ID will be not be accepted.

The University of Texas at Tyler Testing Services Office offers the following tests:

CLEP

• $125 total, $30 proctor fee (paid to Cashier’s office or PAY ONLINE), $95 paid to Collegeboard.org (bring printed voucher on the day of the exam)
• Typically given Monday - Thursday; call for availability
• Receive scores immediately
• Must have valid photo ID
• Computer based

 TSI

• Typically a student of UT Tyler, if not ask for details.
• $35 for UT Tyler students; $50 for non-UT Tyler students, paid to Cashiers office or PAY ONLINE.
• Not given on university’s posted finals week
• Receive scores immediately
• Must have valid photo ID
• Computer based
• Takes about 5 hours for all tests
  • Three sections available: English Language Arts, Essay Writing, and Math
• At-home vouchers are available; after paying fee, call or email the Testing Center
• Pre-assessment is required

 Correspondence

• Open to the public
• Available Monday-Thursday
• $35 proctor fee per test PAY ONLINE.
• It is the student’s responsibility to get it set up
• Subject to availability
• Must have valid photo ID
• Can be computer or paper based

Calculus Placement

• Must be a UT Tyler student
• Must have valid photo ID
• Calculators are not permitted
• Takes approximately an hour
• Limited to 3 attempts
• Not given on university’s posted finals week
• May be taken at UT Tyler Testing Center
• Enroll in the Canvas Course prior to exam date
