VA Education Benefits
General information on educational benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is found below. Neither the MVSC, nor UT Tyler, determines eligibility for the benefits below. Eligibility can ONLY be established by the VA.

Non-Tuition Paying:
These benefits do NOT pay any funds directly to UT Tyler; all benefits are paid to eligible recipients. Students using these benefits should make arrangements to pay their tuition-either through financial aid, or out of pocket-PRIOR TO the tuition due date to avoid being dropped from their classes.

Post-9/11 GI Bill® (CH33)
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides up to 36 months of benefits to eligible recipents, including
- Tuition and fee payments directly to your institution,
- A monthly housing allowance (MHA), and
- Up to $1,000 per academic year for books and other supplies.
Qualified service members may be able to transfer Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits to a spouse or child. Children and surviving spouses of service members who died in the line of duty after September 10, 2011 may qualify for the Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship.
Veteran Readiness and Employment (CH31)
Veteran Readiness and Employment assists service-connected disabled veterans with exploring employment options and training need.
