STEM Programs at The University of Texas at Tyler

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math: Education for Global Leadership

The University of Texas at Tyler offers the following STEM programs for our undergraduate and graduate students. Graduates with STEM degrees are in high demand, both in the US and abroad. A STEM degree is an excellent choice for students who desire careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. If you’re interested in pursuing a STEM degree, take a look at the list below to see which program is right for you.

A special note for international students: Eligible international students are given the opportunity to gain work experience and supplement the knowledge gained in their academic studies. Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a form of training, often paid, that directly relates to your program of study. You can apply for OPT during your final semester and be employed in the U.S. for a year. UT Tyler students who obtain a STEM degree are eligible to apply for a STEM OPT Extension. STEM OPT allows for an additional 24-months of employment for a total of three (3) years. Contact OIP@uttyler.edu for more information on OPT.
