Public Reception with Artist Talk will be Dec. 5 at Fine Arts Complex Gallery

Artwork by Jennifer Jernigan of Scurry, an undergraduate fine arts degree candidate at The University of Texas at Tyler, is currently featured in a thesis exhibition at the UT Tyler Fine Arts Complex Gallery.

The Department of Art and Art History will hold a public reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the gallery. The show, “Hysteria,” continues through Friday, Dec. 13.

Jernigan is a figurative ceramic sculptor who uses the female form to highlight women’s mental health issues. Her current body of work captures moments of emotionality in abstracted situations.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment. For more information, contact Michelle Taff, UT Tyler gallery, community outreach and education coordinator, at mtaff@uttyler.edu or 903.566.7237.
