UT Tyler University Academy Ranked Among Best Schools in East Texas by Niche

The University of Texas at Tyler University Academy was recognized among the best school districts and public high schools in East Texas by Niche, an online ranking and review site.

“This incredible recognition is a testament to our commitment to educational excellence and the
meaningful impact we’re making in the lives of our students every day,” said Dr. Jo Ann Simmons,
UA superintendent. “This honor belongs to our entire University Academy family, whose hard work
and belief in our mission make milestones like this possible.”

Among the “2025 Best Public High School” rankings by county, UA – Tyler ranked No. 4 in Smith
County. “We are proud of this accomplishment and remain dedicated to fostering an environment
where every student can thrive,” said Dr. Kelly Dyer, UA – Tyler campus director.

UA – Longview ranked No. 1 in Gregg County, and UA – Palestine ranked No. 1 in the “Best Public Elementary Schools in Anderson County” category. The district overall ranked third in the “Best School Districts in Smith County” category.

The UT Tyler University Academy is a K-12 public university laboratory charter school with
