UT Tyler to Hold Third Annual Mental Health Matters Conference Nov. 18

Event to address growing mental health needs of K-12 students in East Texas

The University of Texas at Tyler will hold the third annual Mental Health Matters Conference Monday, Nov. 18, in the UT Tyler University Center Ballroom.

This year's conference, presented by the UT Tyler College of Education and Psychology, is focused
on empowering school leaders, teachers and school-based mental health providers on how to best
support youth mental health –– both inside and outside the classroom.

Cost is $75 for general admission, $10 for current students, and $50 for university supervisors, UT
Tyler alumni and East Texas Center for School-Based Research and Instruction members. Group

The event begins at 9 a.m. and features interactive sessions and expert speakers, providing practical strategies for fostering positive mental health environments and addressing the growing needs of students. Educators, school counselors and licensed professional counselors can also earn
continuing education credits.
