UT Tyler Offers HRD Doctoral Program Specialization in Higher Education Leadership

The University of Texas at Tyler offers a human resource development doctoral program specialization in higher education leadership. Registration is now open.

Virtual informational sessions are set for noon, Tuesday, Sept. 24, and 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Housed within the Soules College of Business, the three-year, 60-credit hour program features a
cohort model with flexible learning options and can be completed 100% online. The first class will
begin fall 2025.

“We are pleased to offer this new specialization in higher education leadership,” said Dr. Amir
Mirmiran, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “The track is ideal for current
and aspiring higher education administrators and other professionals looking to advance their
careers and make a significant impact on the educational landscape throughout the East Texas
region and beyond.”

Those in the program will master advanced leadership strategies tailored for higher education
institutions, while developing a comprehensive understanding of current and future challenges
facing higher education. Graduates can pursue various career options including educational
technology consultant/manager, academic leadership roles within academic affairs in a community
college or university, director of advancement/alumni affairs or other leadership roles within
student affairs, enrollment and financial management.
