BMW of Tyler Patriot Golf Classic Raises More Than $125,000 for UT Tyler Student Scholarships

The 2024 BMW of Tyler Patriot Golf Classic raised $126,900 to benefit the university’s scholarship program.

“The money raised from this event will help our deserving students attain their academic goals,”
said UT Tyler President Julie V. Philley, MD. “We are grateful to our community partners for their
continued support.”

Since 1986, the Patriot Golf Classic has been one of the university’s largest annual fundraisers
benefiting UT Tyler student scholarships. Proceeds fund an endowment that now totals nearly $3
million.

The Patriot Golf Classic committee, led this year by chairman Jay Ward, organizes the golf
tournament. Committee members include representatives of 25 East Texas businesses such as Jim
Teeter, Tyler Mayor Don Warren, Cory Bowler, Stan Anderson, Jeff Austin III, Adam Attaway, Ryan
Bailes, Steve Braley, Todd Buchanan, Tim Cairns, Les Campbell, Mike Clendenin, Manny DeLeon,
Randy Grooms, Rob Lamberson, Roy Martinez, Michael McMunn, Matt Millslagle, Dr. Howard
Patterson, Tom Seale, James Sheridan, Pat Stacey, Blake Thompson and Lee Trammell.
