The University of Texas at Tyler announced the winners of the 2024 Juried Student Exhibition, hosted by the UT Tyler Department of Art and Art History. This year’s juror was Winter Rusiloski, an abstract landscape artist and associate professor at Baylor University. She chose 39 works by 26 UT Tyler student artists to be featured in the on-campus exhibition and selected “Best in Show” and other winners.
UT Tyler 2024 Juried Student Exhibition winners listed with title of work are:
• Lisa Horlander of Tyler, best in show – “Surface Level.”
• Emily Everitt of Canton, first place – “Almost Lost Ya.”
• Makenzie Bierma of Abilene, second place – "Cowboy Killers."
• Rainy Dollison of Gilmer, third place – “Temporary Home.”
• Amanda Parks of Joshua, honorable mention – “Mounds.”
• Sarah Giles of Rockwall, honorable mention – “Flatus Ratus.”
• Katherine Pizzolatto of Colorado, honorable mention – “Bird Caged.”
The exhibition, currently located at the UT Tyler Meadows Gallery inside the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center, continues through Friday, June 7. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.
