Dr. Yonjoo Cho and Dr. Andrea Ellinger, human resource development faculty at The University of Texas at Tyler, were recognized by the Academy of Human Resource Development.
The international academy annually recognizes scholarly professionals who have made significant contributions to the vision of leading the HRD profession through research. Both professors were recognized at the 2024 annual AHRD International Research Conference in the Americas.
“We congratulate Dr. Cho and Dr. Ellinger for being recognized by the prestigious Academy of Human Resource Development,” said Dr. Krist Swimberghe, dean of the Soules College of Business. “Both are excellent representatives of our world-class HRD department and the college as a whole.”
A UT Tyler professor of human resource development, Cho received the 2023 Outstanding HRD Scholar Award in recognition of her continuing record of scholarly productivity and influence in the profession.
A UT Tyler professor emerita, Ellinger was inducted into the HRD Scholar Hall of Fame for 2023. This honor recognizes her enduring contributions to the academy’s vision of leading the HRD profession through research. She also received the 2023 Best Reviewer Award for her work on the Human Resource Development Review journal.
Cho joined the UT Tyler faculty in 2020. Her expertise includes action learning in organizations and international HRD. She holds a doctorate in instructional technology from UT Austin. Ellinger retired in 2019 after serving UT Tyler for 10 years. Her research agenda has been focused on managerial coaching and learning organizations. She holds a doctorate in adult education with a minor in human resource and organization development from the University of Georgia.
