UT Tyler Fisch College of Pharmacy Licensure Exam Pass Rate Above National Average

February 23, 2024 | Elizabeth Wingfield

The first-time pass rate on the pharmacy licensure exam for the 2023 graduates of The University of Texas at Tyler Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy was 82%, ranking above the national average of 77.5%.

Pharmacy graduates are required to pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination, or the NAPLEX, to become a licensed pharmacist in the United States. The NAPLEX assesses general practice knowledge, including identifying drug characteristics, managing treatment plans, performing calculations and interpreting patient information.

“The attained first-time NAPLEX pass rate is remarkable and demonstrates the determination of our students and the dedication of our faculty and staff,” says Dr. Amy Schwartz, Fisch College of Pharmacy dean. “The outcome is the result of the hard work put forth by all.”

In addition to achieving outstanding NAPLEX results, 100% of students matched with residency programs in 2023 and all students passed the Pharmacy Curriculum Outcomes Assessment.
