Maryn Taylor of Coppell, a human resource development doctoral student at The University of Texas at Tyler Soules College of Business, recently presented her research on Student-to-Student Mentoring in Ph.D. Programs at the Academy of Human Resource Development Conference.

“The HRD department is proud of Ph.D. candidate, Maryn Taylor,” said UT Tyler professor and interim department chair Dr. Kim Nimon, who also serves as Ph.D. program coordinator. “Her research is positioned to serve as a bridge between academia and practice and create evidencebased solutions for workplace issues.”

Taylor will graduate in May 2024 with a Ph.D. in human resource development focusing on the effects of gender bias on organizational development. Her dissertation is titled “Assessing the Theoretical Higher Order Factor Structure of the Gender Bias Scale.”

A military spouse and lifelong volunteer, Taylor was named a 2021 Pat Tillman Scholar in recognition of outstanding service to her community. She has served with AmeriCorps and with local and national organizations supporting women and families. Taylor also mentors HR students and professionals through the Dallas HR Association.
