The Discovery Science Place is hosting “Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead: Celebrating Makers of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics,” an all day, family-friendly event on Saturday, April 15. “Celebrating Makers” will be 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Discovery Science Place, located at 308 North Broadway in Tyler.

Tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for children and include admission into the DSP. The event features a STEM truck lab, DIY science and technology booths, chemistry demonstrations, unique handmade crafts, pottery and jewelry making, and educational workshops with music and live performances.

“This is an event to showcase the creativity and innovation of people and organizations in our community,” said Carol Whiteside, DSP interim executive director. “People of all ages can hear music, watch performances and interact with multiple booths of makers. These makers will have unique ways for participants to interact with them and learn so much.”

Tickets can be purchased online at discoveryscienceplace.org or at the door. The first 500 people to purchase tickets will receive a free string bag. Food will also be available for purchase onsite.  For additional information, contact Whiteside at 903.405.3714 or cwhiteside@uttyler.edu, or Tami Urias, DSP development director, 903.705.6813 or TamiUrias@discoveryscienceplace.org.
