Kerrie Anne Ambort-Clark, senior lecturer and executive director at The University of Texas at Tyler, was named a Regent’s Awardee by the American College of Healthcare Executives. She serves on the ACHE East Texas Chapter Board of Directors.

The ACHE Regent’s Awards recognize members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of health care management excellence and achievement of ACHE’s goals.

“We are so proud of Kerrie Anne, who has proven herself, time and time again, to be an exceptional leader of UT Tyler and the East Texas community,” said Dr. Krist Swimberghe, dean of the Soules College. “She is passionate about developing the next generation of health care leaders, and her excellent work serves the university and the community undoubtably well.”

Ambort-Clark has been instrumental in the development and execution of UT Tyler health care management education programming and student success initiatives in her roles as Executive MBA Health Care Management Program executive director and the School of Medicine’s Health Care Leadership Distinction director. Outside of UT Tyler, she has provided leadership development for community constituents and created leadership training modules used in both academia and industry.

She was recognized last month in a private ceremony on the UT Tyler campus alongside ACHE and community health care administrators and UT Tyler colleagues.

“I am beyond grateful for Kerrie Anne’s contributions to ACHE and the East Texas chapter, and I look forward to her continued successful involvement with the East Texas activities as her work has been exemplary,” said George Robert, Northeast Texas Public Health District CEO and ACHE ETX Chapter president.

A UT Tyler alum, Ambort-Clark received a 2018 UT System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award for her innovations and excellence in teaching. She was also named a 2019 UT Tyler Academy of Distinguished Teachers Faculty Fellow and currently serves as academy president. Ambort-Clark teaches introduction to business and is a contributing faculty to the population health/system science health care administration leadership and management courses at UT Tyler. She also is a faculty adviser for various UT Tyler student organizations and serves as a student and faculty mentor.
