UT Tyler Earns 2021-2022 Military Friendly ® School Designation

The University of Texas at Tyler announced today that it has earned the 2021-2022 Military Friendly ® School designation. 

“It’s an honor to be recognized for our support of student veterans, active, reserve and National Guard personnel and their family members,” said Coby Dillard, MA-HSC, CMCC, military and veterans affairs director. “Our designation is a testament to both the tireless efforts of our former and current staff members, as well as the continued student-led efforts to make UT Tyler a truly military-inclusive institution. With the continued support of our campus leadership and our community partners, we look forward to continuing to expand our services and support for our nation’s heroes and their families.”

The 2021-2022 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

The UT Tyler Military and Veterans Success Center (MVSC), supports approximately 600 military-affiliated students. The MVSC provides the full spectrum of individualized, relationship-centered support and advocacy for its student population.

The Military Friendly ® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans and responses to the proprietary, data -driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. 

With a mission to improve educational and healthcare outcomes for East Texas and beyond, UT Tyler offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs to 10,000 students. Through its alignment with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler and UT Health East Texas, UT Tyler has unified these entities to serve Texas with innovative medical research, medical education and excellent patient care.
