UT Tyler to Host 4th Annual Evidence-Based Practice Conference

The University of Texas at Tyler, in conjunction with CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, has announced that it will host the fourth annual Interprofessional Evidence-Based Practice Conference.
"Better Together: Evidence-Based Practice in Action," will be 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. Interested healthcare professionals, nursing faculty and students will learn about the latest hot-topics in evidence-based practice (EBP). EBP is the conscientious use of current best evidence in making decisions about patient care.
"Evidence-based practice ensures that patients receive the best care for their health concerns. Practitioners use research evidence, practice standards, clinical experience and patient preferences to develop an individualized plan of care for each patient," said Dr. Barbara Haas, executive director of the UT Tyler School of Nursing. "We are proud to collaborate once again with CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System and provide the opportunity for healthcare professionals to enhance nursing care and patient outcomes in East Texas."

Conference speakers include community healthcare volunteers and leaders from the University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy, UT Health East Texas and CHRISTUS Trinity Clinics.
